Ripple Swim School Makes a Splash in Ilford & Redbridge

Friday evenings at Caterham High School Swimming Pool in Clayhall, Redbridge (IG5) are officially buzzing. Ripple Swim School launched on 4th September, and the response has been better than we could have hoped for — our Women-Only session in particular is almost sold out, with just 3 spaces left.

That's exactly the reaction we were hoping for when we designed the session.

Research from the Lloyd's Register Foundation found that 68% of women worldwide can't swim unassisted, compared to 43% of men.

For a lot of women, a mixed pool environment is enough of a barrier to keep them out of the water altogether. A private session, taught only by female instructors, takes that pressure off completely — no matter your starting point, whether you're building confidence from scratch or brushing up on technique.

On the same Friday evening programme, we're running Stages 1 through 7 for children alongside our adult group classes. Whatever stage you or your child are at, there's a route in.

If you've been thinking about getting yourself or your kids into the water, now's the time to get in touch — only 3 spaces left on our Women-Only class, and the rest are filling up fast.

Meanwhile, in the wider swim world…

It's been a big few weeks for British swimming. At Glasgow 2026, Team England picked up four medals, with Brock Whiston setting a new Games record along the way.
